Which web development software should I use for Mac?
Question by ArthurM: Which web development software should I use for Mac?
I intend to develop a business website on my own. I do not have previous web development experience. I am looking for software that I can use to help me create what I want. I will need account/login capability, checkout capability, forms, document upload capability, etc. I will do this on my personal Mac computer. Any suggestions?

Most traditional website developing software such as iWeb or the like often do not provide the features you have discussed in your original post. I would suggest you build your website around an existing open source Custom Management System (CMS) such as Joomla or Drupal.
A little information on drupal: the way it works is it gives you an engine to which you can then expand by adding various “modules” — You can read more on their website.
Here is a commonly used cart module for drupal: http://www.ubercart.org/downloads
Drupal: http://drupal.org/

I haven’t worked with it but think it provides what you’d like. It gives you 2GB and is compatible with SVN and git. (I think). It’s compatible with two different code repository systems, lets you upload docs, etc.
